This indicator is based on the work of the <a href=\"https:\/\/marilca.org\/characterization-factors\/]\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/marilca.org\/characterization-factors\/]\">MarILCA working group<\/a>.<\/p><p><strong>Fisheries impact<\/strong><br \/>This indicator quantifies the biodiversity impacts of fisheries activities, measured exclusively at the ecosystem quality damage level (in PDF\u00b7m\u00b2\u00b7yr). It is derived from <a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/su16093870\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.3390\/su16093870\">the work of Stanford-Clark<\/a>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8cdc942 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8cdc942\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>IMPACT World+ becomes the first impact assessment method offering an environmental impact category for plastic emissions and for fisheries impact.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d5bc380 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d5bc380\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Marine &amp; terrestrial ecotoxicity <\/strong>impact categories were added, based on USEtox (v2.02).<br \/><br \/><strong>Photochemical ozone formation, ecosystem quality\u00a0<\/strong>was integrated in addition to the already existing Photochemical ozone formation, human health.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5a94178 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"5a94178\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Updated indicators<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a5f4aa3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a5f4aa3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div><strong>All climate change indicators<\/strong><br \/>Two versions are introduced for handling biogenic carbon accounting : &#8220;carbon neutrality&#8221; (default) and &#8220;incl.CO2 uptake&#8221;.\u00a0This second version also separates climate change impacts into subcategories, aligning with standards like PEF and GHG Protocol.<br \/><br \/><strong>Climate change, human health and Climate change, ecosystem quality<\/strong><br \/>These CFs were updated in version 2.1 to align with the AR6 recommendations from IPCC 2021.\u00a0For the Climate change, human health indicator only, the effect factors were also revised.<br \/><br \/><strong>Particulate matter formation<\/strong><br \/>These CFs were updated using the latest model by Fantke et al. <strong>(<\/strong>detailed in <a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1021\/acs.est.9b01800\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1021\/acs.est.9b01800\">this article<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1021\/acs.est.7b02589\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1021\/acs.est.7b02589\">this article<\/a><strong>)<\/strong>, which includes updates to regionalized fate and effect factors.<br \/><br \/><strong>Water availability, human health<\/strong><br \/>These CFs were updated with the latest model from Debarre (2024), harmonizing methodologies for domestic and agricultural water use, updating exposure factors using recent Gross National Income data, and revising effect factors.\u00a0<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>The following indicators were also <strong>updated <\/strong>:<\/div><ul><li><strong>Water
